Survey Report: October 25-27 This three-day survey was very challenging. Despite a favorable weather forecast on Thursday night, we had to fight 15-20 knot winds from the northeast and northwest on both Friday and Saturday that made St. Catherine’s and Sapelo Sounds impassable. We were able to sail the rest of our survey zone over the course of the weekend, but were only able to get into the Sounds on Sunday. Unlike the earlier October survey, we didn’t see a lot of animals in the Sounds and the ones we did see were mostly known residents. It appears that the Fall migration may be over.
