Sushi started making this sound in the middle of the night last night. She has a collapsing trachea and has for years, my vet in Seattle told me there isnt much I can do. She usually has weird inverted coughing fits a few times a day but this sound is new. Its also only happening in intervals and she seems totally fine during it, following me around and wagging her tail and such. I cant currently really afford to take her to the vet unless its a real emergency (I am a terrible pet mother, ugh) so if anyone has any advice or insight it would be much appreciated. Other than this shes totally fine, eating and drinking normally, barking, playing, being happy.
