Suspected fraudsters hack Gov Yero’s phone number KADUNA —Governor Mukhtar Yero of Kaduna State has complained that some fruadsters had cloned his telephone number and using same to send dubious text messages to certain people in the society. Yero, therefore, disclaimed such alleged false text messages from him soliciting funds from people, saying anybody dealing with such fraudsters were doing so at their own risk. The Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Ahmed Maiyaiki, who made this known in a statement yesterday, said: “For the avoidance of doubt, Governor Yero has not directly or through any third party asked people to make deposit into certain bank accounts. “Suspected fraudsters have obviously hacked into the governor’s phone number and are using it to defraud unsuspecting people. ‘’The general public is hereby advised to disregard any such text messages as they are mere attempts at defrauding them of their hard earned money.”
