Sustainability@NRRI Presents the next talk in our Brown Bag Sustainability Series. Our next presentation in the series will be Wednesday 3/19 at NRRI room 435 from 12:00-12:45 Guest speaker will be Rheanna Letsos, Education and Outreach Coordinator at the Duluth Community Garden Program Her talk is titled: Healthy Food Access through Land, Knowledge and Opportunity - The Duluth Community Garden Program Date: 3/19/14 Where: NRRI room 435 Time: 12:00 - 12:45 Background: Rheanna attributes her passion for healthy food and the environment to the principles of growing your own food and stewardship of the land that she learned from her family, who immigrated to this country from Greece. After earning her undergraduate degree in Organizational Behavior from the College of St. Scholastica she went on to serve as an AmeriCorps member at Stowe Elementary School, where she supported the schools emphasis of environmental learning with school wide service learning projects. Last year she served as a GreenCorps member at the Duluth Community Garden Program where she coordinated the creation of Duluths newest community garden, The Emerald, in Lincoln Park. In her current position at the Duluth Community Garden Program, as Education and Outreach Coordinator, you can find Rheanna enthusiastically connecting her passion for food, where it comes from, and how to grow it, and sharing what she learns with others.
