Suwannee Banjo Camp March 27-29, 2015 in Live Oak Florida (Extra Day March 26th) suwanneebanjocamp/ 1) Jim Carrier will present his extraordinary documentary about Dena Epstein and her trailblazing work uncovering the African roots of the banjo, “The Librarian and the Banjo”. The film includes Dena herself as well as Carolina Chocolate Drops, Bela Fleck, Tony Trischka, Eric Weissberg, Stephen Wade, Sule Greg Wilson and Pura Fe, Bob Winans, Tony Thomas, Greg Adams, Laurent Dubois, Bobby Fulcher and Daniel Laemouahuma Jatta 2) Noted banjo collector and historian Jim Bollman will present “Banjo History & Manufacture: Minstrel Era Thru the 1930s”. Jim will be available to talk to students about pre-1920s banjos including giving verbal appraisals during the weekend. 3) Wayne Rogers of Gold Tone Gold Tone returns with a set up class.
