Suzy ParkerRecipes of Days gone by! 15 hrs · Please be careful of this phone call: It is a real scam going around (This wasnt me) WARNING! I just got a phone call, here at the house, on my land line. This guy (not American) proceeded to tell me he was from the IRS. I asked him where he was and he said Washington DC. I ask him who he was calling for. He had my name, including middle initial, my address and my phone number. He said I had left a box unchecked on my Federal taxes for the years 2008 through 2013. But he couldnt tell me what box. Therefore, I owed the feds over $2,000. He said the exact dollar amount, but I forget what it was. And then he says I have two ways to handle it. I couldnt understand everything he said, but I knew by this time that it was a scam. So I politely (well, I wasnt really polite, but you get the picture) told him that I knew it was a scam and a few other things that are not G rated. He then told me that if I didnt pay today that the police would be showing up at my door within 3 hrs to haul me to jail and that I would stay there until my hearing on Jan. 2nd. Well, I asked him to send the big boys here to get me....chuckling to myself all the while....and I told him that I was looking forward to the rest and the three meals a day. He said he hoped I had a Merry Christmas laying in jail. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share this so that an elderly (yes there are those older than me!) will not fall for this! I called the Police Station and asked them when they would be coming and they laughed.....guess they want a quiet holiday too!!! But I was the third call they had today on this. I got a good chuckle, but it could turn out bad for others if they let it. So please share. Like ·
