Sweet Briar’s Art Collection and Galleries has been awarded a collections stewardship grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services to conserve Soviet propaganda posters in the collection. “This grant program of the IMLS is peer-reviewed, which means that fellow museum professionals from across the country approved our application,” says art galleries director Karol Lawson, who worked with the College’s grants office to secure the funding. “It is a genuine vote of confidence in the quality of Sweet Briar’s art collection.” Read more on the IMLS website here 1.usa.gov/1yjoO9S and check sbc.edu/news in the coming days for more details on the poster collection.
