Sweet Sweet Surprise today. Im stuck in bed for a few days due to the misguided flick of a surgeons wrist and couldnt go help at the food bank today. Not only was it Easter dinner, but also food distribution day. Nothing I could do about it though and I called them when I got home, late yesterday, to cancel. This afternoon I heard a knock on my door, which is strange enough. I thought that if it was my landlord he could come back another time and I ignored it. Whoever it was, they were persistent and I got up and wrapped a housecoat around me and shuffled to the door. It was the young couple who ran the foodbank. They had kept a meal aside for me. How nice was that!!!! So I had Easter dinner anyway, even though I couldnt afford a ham or a turkey. Ham steak and scalloped potatoes and cabbage salad and enough for the same again tomorrow.
