Switzers Nursery and Landscaping Receives MNLA Award for Excellence in Landscape Humbled, honored and excited to share this awesome news with you! From the MNLA Press Release: Several members of the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association (MNLA) were recently honored with the 2015 MNLA Award for Excellence in Landscape. Among those honored through the Landscape Awards program was landscape designer Glenn Switzer of Switzer’s Nursery & Landscaping in Northfield. A panel of practicing professionals in landscape education, landscape architecture and horticulture judged each entry based upon quality of design, materials and workmanship. Entries are not judged against each other, but rather against standards of excellence in achieving the client’s design goals, selection of materials, and execution of the installation. The landscape renovation of the historic Drew H. Lord House achieved the design intent of providing a visual foundation for the home, accentuating the main entrance, creating separation and definition of public and private spaces and developing a clear pedestrian traffic pattern. The Project was noted by one of the judges for “doing the research, listening so well to the client, understanding what kind of structures and plants might have been used in comparable sites. The designer did an excellent job looking at and incorporating these features using modern techniques. I love this project - the history, the thoughtfulness of the designer, the choices made, and the clients desire to preserve and show off this piece of Northfield history” The Minnesota Nursery & Landscape Association is the state’s largest green industry trade association with more than 1,000 member businesses including garden centers; landscape contractors and designers; tree and flower growers; irrigation contractors; and lawn, tree, and garden services. ----- #SNLscapes #MNLA #Hardscaping #Landscaping #Landscape #Award
