Sydney Sub Branch Monthly Ride: Sunday 14th September 2014 With several potential members joining the ride today, a pre-meeting point was agreed at Moorebank Sporties car park at 0830 h. Gadget happily agreed to give his pillion to Brett, with Jeff, Robo, Al, Wombat, Minimammi and Pommie all there too. After introductions, we set off for the Sub Branch meeting point at the McDonalds on the junction of the Prince’s Highway and Heathcote Road, Heathcote at 0930 h with a 0945 h departure. With everyone arriving nice and early, it gave us chance for a coffee and catch up with all the other members, Jono and Cec, Sloany and The Smurfette and Ugly, plus another couple more potential members, Pete and Deannne. As the departure time got closer we all wondered when Steve, Sub Branch Secretary and Ride Organiser, was going to arrive. 0930 h came and went and still no Steve. Turns out, on his way to the meeting he was involved in an accident, so we had to ride without him! Get well soon Brother. We set off on time south down the Prince’s Highway, turning into the Royal National Park at Waterfall. Perfect riding conditions all the way. On to Wollongong then freeways and the Illawarra Highway, through the Macquarie Pass National Park finishing at Robertson’s Pie Shop. Fantastic weather, a warm breeze and hardly a cloud in the sky. Great riding! After pies and drinks and bladder relief, it was re-mount and down to Robertson for a splash and dash. Then the final re-mount and a straight run through Bowral and up the Hume Highway for the monthly Sub Branch meeting. With the CO’s approval already given, all ride attendees were issued an access pass to the School of Military Engineering for the meeting. Robo struggled to get his ride re-started and had to offer his apologies for none attendance. Hope it’s an easy fix Robo! A great day’s riding, just unfortunate about Steve and Robo.
