#Syria #News #freedom #Revolution Syrian Truth l Press TV l Life returning to normal after liberation of Qusayr: Syria Life has returned to normal in the Syrian city of Qusayr two months after the western city was liberated by army forces backed by fighters of the Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah. The city’s residents have started returning to Qusayr, located in the province of Homs. Qusayr was recaptured by the Syrian army in early June after being taken by foreign-backed militants fighting the government of Bashar al-Assad more than a year ago. The Syrian government said it had killed a large number of militants before taking back the western city. Qusayr residents have begun cleaning the city and planting trees, while electricians have also started to install wiring and repair telecommunication cables damaged in the violence. Following the liberation, Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem said the move was a major blow to Israel and the US, who have been supporting the militants in the country. Western powers and their regional allies - including the Israeli regime, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar - continue to support militant groups, including al-Qaeda-linked terrorists, in Syria. Syria has been gripped by deadly unrest since 2011. The UN says more than 100,000 people have been killed and millions of others displaced in the violence. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said on July 25 that more than 100,000 people have been killed in Syria since the outbreak of foreign-sponsored militancy in the country. Millions of others have been also displaced in the violence.
