System Operator Description: Monitor and operate large scale active-passive cluster with Microsoft SQL 2000 Enterprise Server, Microsoft Exchange 5.5/2000/2003 Enterprise Server, Northrop Grumman IT Mailroom 2.0, Telos Automated Message Handling System (AMHS), Engenium Semetric Search application, DMS Outlook, Crystal Report Professional, Sybari Antivirus Antigen, Veritas Server Net Enterprise Backup Software, Northrop Grumman’s Decision Agent Proxy Agent, Northrop Grumman’s Communication Gateway System/Multifunctional Interpreter (CGS/MFI), Enhanced Communications Gateway System (ECGS), Pentagon Automated Telecommunications Systems(PACS) DMS Servers and applications, and several web enabled applications. Troubleshoot MRO queues on PACS and ECGS. Monitor PACS, ECGS and Decision Agent terminals for message intercepts. Monitor over the counter and high precedence message queues. Track and resolve all non-delivery reports, with the objective of ensuring that all messages are delivered to all addressees. Provide customer support and resolve customer problems. Resolve National Gateway routing problems, DMS non-delivery problems, and viruses in DMS messages or attachments. Review warnings of National Gateway and DMS mis-classified messages and determine appropriate action. Notify service and agency central help desks of those customers who cannot receive messages. Notify the ITA NSMC Help Desk for any network-related problems. Manage message queues, hold messages for customers who cannot receive messages, provide alternative delivery of messages, and resume message delivery and re-deliver messages as required. Provide the Pentagon Telecommunications Center (PTC) customers with over-the counter services to include assisting customers with message preparation, sending out messages in JANAP or DMS formats, providing authorized customers with paper, diskette or CD-ROM copies of their messages, sending messages to customers by pneumatic tube, telefax, and U.S. Mail as required. Provide PTC customers with special category message handling services. Provide PTC customers with high precedence message notification. Provide manual review of designated messages that require special handling prior to actual distribution using documented procedures. Maintain a Master Station Log of activities and problems. Keep systems operational 24x7. Skills: Must be trained and qualified in message formatting, message handling, messaging regulations and directives, National Gateway Routing, security classification markings and ability to detect and correct security problem using authorized documented procedures. PC knowledge with Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system, Outlook, Internet Explorer, DMS Directory searching, and message printing operations. Training on Northrop Grumman Decision Agent Administration or Operator Training Course. Certified Training/Experience in Microsoft environment applications and networks noted above. Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Decision Agent, Engenium, Sybari, and Veritas products are preferred but not required. Must be trained in DMS Operations. Special Requirements: Top Secret (TS) Clearance, shift work position Experience: Minimum of 1 year’s experience as systems operator in a Microsoft (NT/2000) environment, Message Center, DMS, DMS related, or message related field is preferred. Experience with Northrop Grumman Decision Agent, ECGS, and Telos AMHS systems is preferred but not required Education: Some college courses or technical/Military technical school training required.
