System snow moving into the area now. I still like 2-5 totals, with the higher amounts south of US-30 and lower farther north. The system moves out tomorrow morning. We are left with a few scattered snow showers during the day. The wind will pick up and well see the snow blow around late afternoon and evening. By tomorrow evening/overnight and into much of Wednesday, I am becoming more confident in a lake effect snow event. I think well see at least one band of snow develop. When temperatures are this cold, the snow flakes are fluffly/small. This REDUCES accumulation (larger flakes accumulate faster obviously). That said, the setup seems decent to me. I think some areas in the typical lake effect regions could see several inches of snow. If a band does develop and stay stationary, significant accumulation is possible in some areas. Once tonights snow passes, Ill focus on the lake effect. Check back for more. Nonetheless, at least those of you in the typical lake areas have another heads up to stay tuned!
