Systems Technician needed for company in Beaumont. Duties will include but are not limited to: Performing daily computer operations; completing period-end processing, and producing and archiving reports. Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting computer hardware and software with an eye on process improvement, streamlining and cost control. Assuring that all production data is safeguarded through reliable backups. Assisting with operation of Symitar Episys core financial software. Assisting with systems and software integration. Assisting in development of internal procedure documentation for use and improvement of IS/IT system applications, Maintaining integrity of critical databases. Assuring that production data is protected (backed up regularly, safeguarded off-site). Maintaining system backups, transaction files and associated logs. Keeping management and operational areas informed of service interruptions and upgrade / maintenance windows, maximize system integrity to minimize interruptions (schedule down time during off-peak hours; maintaining all hardware in working order, ensuring that all systems are functioning within established parameters). Essential hardware must be put back into service within 4 hours; non-essential hardware should be put back into service within 1 week. This is a temporary position that pays $14 - 16 per hour.
