T. DIBABA 30:30, from EME news TILBURG (NED, Sep 1): Changing wind denied Tirunesh Dibaba to come closer to 10 km road world record (30:21) here as she clocked 30:30, the third fastest ever. A good pace at beginning with 9:04 at 3km, then at 5 km Dibaba remained alone in 15:20. A very good second part of the race gave her the chance to close the gap to the scheduled time-table. Second Esther Chemtai was way back in 32:06 ahead of Genet Yalew 32:09. Sixth place for first European Lauren Howarth of Great Britain in 33:48. In the men 10 miles the pace had 14:39 at 5k and 28:51 at 10k headed by Vincent Yator. At the 15 km (42:58) there was a leading trio, and at the end winner Tsegay Tuemay of Eritrea got 46:06 with Yator second 46:18 and third marathon runner Wilson Chebet 46:26. Fourth place for Peter Kamais in 46:33 and fifth was Stephen Kiplagat in 46:39. Sixth Dutch Khalid Choukoud as top European in 46:44 and with 15 km split 45:33 a national record.
