TADWORTH STATION c1920 Tadworth railway station first opened on July 1st 1900, three years after its neighbour at Kingswood. Initially it was known as “Tadworth and Walton On The Hill, and was responsible for opening up the area to development and tourism. Many early travellers came to explore the local heathland. One landmark for walkers returning to the station was the local Water Tower, which is now a private house.
