TAKE ACTION to Protect Living Wage Ordinances! The General Assembly TODAY is debating HB 74, the Regulatory Reform Act of 2013, which would directly impact living wage ordinances in Durham and Asheville. CAN worked hard to get the City, the County and the Schools of Durham to pass living wage ordinances. Part II, Section 5 would prohibit city and county governments from requiring private contractors to pay a living wage or require paid sick days. Please contact your Senators and Representatives NOW and tell them to protect living wage ordinances and local government’s authority to protect its citizens!
