THE CLIMAX –KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS AND THE FAITH OF JESUS (Those who listen and accept God’s three-part warning God calls “saints” “who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” . “Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:12 . Christ comes immediately after God’s people give God’s three-part warning message to “those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people with a loud voice” which led those who come out of spiritual “Babylon” to “keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” They have prepared for the harvest --“the harvest is the end of the world and the angels are the reapers.” Matthew 13:39. . THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST is for those who listened and chose to come out of spiritual “Babylon” to “keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” “Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” Revelation 14:14-15. . COMPARE WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT OUR SPIRITUAL LIVES AND WHAT WE SAY . In Revelation 2-3 we see Jesus instruction to His church through seven periods of time following His death and resurrection. The seventh or last church period is called Laodicea which represents the church period in which we live. “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write . . . “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because YOU SAY, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and DO NOT KNOW that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to BUY FROM ME gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore BE ZEALOUS AND REPENT. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and OPENS THE DOOR, I WILL COME IN to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” Revelation 3:14-21. . BUY FROM GOD -- SPEND YOUR TIME WITH GOD . God speaks to you and me, living just before the coming of Christ. He says we believe ourselves to be spiritually “rich, wealthy and in need of nothing.” But in God’s eyes we are “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” God has a remedy – He says we must “BUY” from Him His “Gold” and His “white garments” and His eye salve.” He says we must “be zealous and repent.” He says that we must “open the door” of our hearts to His Word. How then do we “buy” His gold? Isaiah also tells us to “buy” from God. “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.” Isaiah 55:1. . SPEND A THOUGHTFUL HOUR CONTEMPLATING THE LIFE OF CHRIST . We must “buy” God’s gold or we will be eternally poor and lost. Isaiah tells us we cannot “buy” God’s gold with money so what must we spend? “It would be well for us to SPEND a thoughtful HOUR each day in contemplation of the life of Christ. We should take it point by point, and let the imagination grasp each scene, especially the closing ones. As we thus dwell upon His great sacrifice for us, our confidence in Him will be more constant, our love will be quickened, and we shall be more deeply imbued with His spirit. If we would be saved at last, we must learn the lesson of penitence and humiliation at the foot of the cross. . . Beholding the beauty of His character, we shall be ‘changed into the same image from glory to glory.’ 2 Cor. 3:18.” Desire of Ages, page 83. . PEOPLE DESIRE INSTANT POWER BUT THAT ONLY COMES WHEN WE SPEND TIME WITH THE LORD . – We are people in a hurry. People today like fast food restaurants, instant potatoes, instant cereal from a box, instant drinks, instant pleasure, a theater (TV, computer) in every home. God says we must “take time to be holy.” We must spend an hour or hours with Him every day. If you wish to understand God’s Word you must SPEND the time with Him. . No one can give you an instant answer to your questions! God is calling for you and me to “be zealous and repent” and “buy” His “gold,” His “white garments” and His “eye salve,” by spending enough time with Him studying His Word. . SPEND TIME IN PRAYER FOR GODS GIFT, HIS SPIRIT . Before Studying His Word SPEND time with Him in prayer claiming His promise of His Holy Spirit to live in your heart and teach you His Word. He promises “ask and it will be given.” He promises “ ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? if you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly father GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM!” Luke 11:5-13. . THE BIBLE, THE BREAD OF LIFE IS NOT A FAST FOOD . You see your Bible study without asking for His Spirit to lead you is wasted time. Neither you nor I are smart enough to understand God’s word. To learn God’s plan for your life will require you to SPEND the time praying and learning throughout each day. As you walk through each day, walk with Jesus, lifting your heart up to Him in prayer. As you walk through each day SPEND the time learning a promise from His Word. Soon God’s children will be a persecuted children (2 Timothy 3:12) – many will no longer have Bibles to study from. Store God’s promises in your heart as you travel though each day. (2 Peter 1:4) Store them one by one and when you no longer have a Bible – you will have God’s Word in your heart and this is what God promises to do for you – if you are “zealous and repent” and “buy” His “Gold,” His “white garments,” and His “eye salve” by spending time throughout each and every day asking Him for His Spirit and committing His promises to your memory – one by one. .
