TALK BIG “And his brethren said to him, shalt thou indeed reign over us? Or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words”. (Genesis 37 vs 8). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. Our Focal Scripture reveals that Joseph’s brothers hated him because of his dreams and because of his words. His dream was not their only problem; his words provoked some hatred too. Joseph spoke about his dream, and his words got his brothers offended. He spoke about things that were yet to happen, and the way he said it offended people around him. If they hated the way Joseph shared his dream, maybe Joseph discussed his dream in glowing colours. He realised there is a way dreamers talk. Dreamers believe that their dreams will take them to the future they desire. As Joseph shared his dream, I sense confidence which they interpreted as arrogance; I see passion , which they thought was ‘over-sabi’. Friend, glean a lesson from Joseph: Talk big. Don’t speak according to your limitations, speak according to your revelations. Don’t speak according to the expectations of men, speak according to God’s plans concerning you. Don’t be apologetic about your dream because you don’t want to offend people. If your dream doesn’t earn you haters, maybe it isn’t massive. People may despise you for your dreams, ignore them and work towards it, your result will become that evidence that terminates every argument.
