TARABA 2015: WE ARE ALL FOR SUCCESS ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ Suntai Successor. Who? It began when the former Deputy Governor was impeached by the Taraba State House of Assembly sometimes in October 4th, 2012. On the 5th October, 2012, the light shone brighter when the Bridge Builder Alh. Garba Umar was sworn-in as the Deputy Governor of Taraba State. Everything was moving find until the unfortunate plane crash of Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai, on the 25th October, 2012. The period were among the most difficult and trial moment of the State. It has suffered from some biter hearted people and desprate politicians who wanted to hijact power so as to turn the State into their dinner plate. Glory be to God and thanks to Taraba State House of Assembly for standing by their position. The Law Makers used their legislatives power to confirmed the Deputy Governor as Acting Governor of the State. Some parts of the State also suffered from ethno- relgious crises during the period, but thank to the government, the security agencies, the traditional rulers, the religion leaders, NGOs and the media for working tirelessly in ensuring peace and promoting unity and development in the State. Taraba State Peace Initiative, initiated by the Acting Governor has made a tremendous success in restoring peace in the crises areas and preventing it from spreading to other part of the state. Within these period of difficulties, Taraba State has archieved tremendous development, which mostly are those projects designed by the Pilot of Development, Gov. Danbaba Danfulani Suntai, these include, Construction of four kilometers road in the 16 local governments, Construction of Taraba State House of Assembly Service Commission, Rehabilitation and construction of Takum General Hospital, Implementation of 18 percen minimum wage, Employment of over 5000 workers into different Ministries and Agencies. Others were empowerment of over 10,000 youth through SURE-P programme, Construction of Jalingo - Garba-Chede - Bali Federal highway, Construction of Nursing School (ungoing), Construction of Bali - Gashaka - Gembu Federal highway (ungoing), instalation of rural Electrification in Suntai village of Bali LG and Bachama village of Karim-Lamido. Other projects are solar boreholes, clinics, schoools, abattoirs and students scholarship, among others. The Acting Governor, Alh. Garba Umar, the Bridge Builder, whom upon all pressures from the biter hearted and desprate politicians, continued to concentrate on the blue print of his boss and welfare of his people, deserves salute of honour. As a Taraban and as a State Media Consultant of UTICIYA ZAUREN AMANA FOUNDATION, at this juncture, I will like to invite all the good people of Taraba to throw salute of honour to Acting Governor, Alh. Garba Umar, Marafan Karim. My fellow Taraban 2015 is another election year, is another year to vote for a successful progresssive man and a State Builder, let us call for Bridge Builder to continue the good work He stated.
