Though the 53rd independent anniversary celebration in the state was in low-key but the students insisted that a match past should have taken place hence the date. Contacted the police public relation officer PPRO in the state ASP Joseph Kwaji told the Nigerian Tribune on telephone that his office was not aware of the development and cannot comment on the issue he has no knowledge about. Although further investigation by the Nigerian Tribune revealed that the political tension in the state and the recent killing of students from college of Agriculture Yobe might contributed in putting off the celebration in Taraba state.
