TATA First Dot National Seminar on Functional Genomics & Workshop on Microarray Data Analysis Organized by Department of Biotechnology on 26-28, February 2014 ABOUT THE SEMINAR & WORKSHOP Functional Genomics focuses on the function of DNA at the level of genes, RNA transcripts and protein products. It uses high throughput technologies such as DNA sequencing, microarrays, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics analysis to illuminate the function of the genome. It becomes indispensable for the researchers to update with the latest technologies in ‘omics’ and microarray analysis in particular. TARGET AUDIENCE FOR THE SEMINAR & WORKSHOP Faculty members, Research scholars and B.Tech/ M.Tech/M.Sc students of Biotech/Bioinformatics are strongly encouraged to attend the seminar and workshop. Basic knowledge in bioinformatics and MS-Excel is essential for participating in the workshop. The number of participants in the workshop will be limited to 40. POSTER PRESENTATION IN THE SEMINAR Research papers are invited from Research Scholars and students in the following areas v Bioinformatics & Computational analysis v Genomics v Pharmacogenomics v Genes and diseases v Gene expression profiling in diseases v Medical Biotechnology An abstract of less than 300 words on original research work done by the participant should be sent by email to biotechdrmgr@gmail before 20th February 2014. The Shortlisted abstracts will be selected for poster presentation. Best two posters will be awarded.
