TBT - I would have been celebrating my best friend Judys birthday with her last Friday had the monster breast cancer not taken her away from me almost 10 years ago now. I have been thinking of her so often and then yesterday, a thank you recap of the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in San Francisco arrived in the mail from my good friend Stephanie Rodriguez Becker with the pink ribbon Stephanie wore in Judys memory during the walk. Memories of the good times Judy and I had came flooding back - 25 years of teaching high school English together, carpooling back and forth to Diamond Bar High School, planning graduation ceremonies and proms, advising kids as they raised $$$ to fund those events, constructing homecoming floats for parades, preparing students for A.P. exams, attending A.P. professional conferences, walking the Claremont Thompson Creek Trail, taking areobics classes together, and laughing and crying at life together. Here you see us decked out in the last prom picture we had taken together. I miss you Judy. And thank you, Stephanie, for your relentless fight against cancer!
