TEACH IT - lesson 109 DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING When I was a child, still too young to comprehend the meaning of what I was taught by my father (biological) he made me listen to this speach telling me that this was the true reason that Dr. King was killed & since neither he nor I understood a word of English he read a Swedish translation out loud as we listened to Dr. Kings sermon, God only knows how he got an audio recording of the speach or a translation. My father both beloved & hated was a man of deep thought, faith & conviction & a brilliant mind with a deep commitment to God & despite his disabilities he carried out his mission of raising a rebel. I cried because my father cried, my father cried because he truly believed that with the assassination of J.F.K. & Dr. King the world was coming to an end. My father prayed for peace, he tried to make a difference in his corner of the world & in the process he educated me in more ways than one. I just listened to this speach of Dr. King again, for the first time truly understanding the words in the language it was written & delivered. The impact is just as powerful, I am crying, because I know that my father was right in his analysis, this speach is why Dr. Martin Luther King was killed. The powers that be has allow us a semi-holiday to celebrate Dr. King, we listen to his speach I have a dream, a movie (Selma) is made about the civil rights movement in this country & the man behind the movement. But nowhere in all this is the true message from God that this man delivered, knowing very well that the moment he uttered these words he was a dead man walking. I HAVE A DREAM, THAT EVERY HOUSE OF WORSHIP PLAY THIS SPEACH THIS WEEKEND. IT IS AS RELEVANT TODAY AS IT WAS 50 YEARS AGO. I ♥ U Blessings & Respect, OT aka Sister Fletcher
