*** TEAM BFH PRESENTATION EVENING 2013-2014 SEASON *** Team BFH held their prestigious presentation evening for the 2013-2014 season of the Ledbury Town and District Darts League at the Full Pitcher in Ledbury on 20/07/14 (a venue not at all chosen on account of the fact that the Captain could use his £10.00 voucher won at a raffle during a charity match over at Ledbury Town Football Club a couple of months previously), and, after a slap-up meal with the large mixed grill being especially popular, Captain C. Ponter proceeded to hand out the team awards to the following players. Congratulations to all of the teams prize winners who are pictured in the photos below, along with Assistant Vice Captain H. Boswell who, in one of the pictures, chose to don the Len Goodman mask awarded for the most sevens scored throughout the season in an attempt to scare her husband witless... Jenkins - he also picked up a 180 TROPHY from the league for this feat, as well as the league’s first ever 180 CARPET TROPHY for causing two treble-20 scoring darts to fall out of the board with a third dart during a singles game at home against AC/DC’s D. Butcher earlier on in the season) HIGHEST AWAY SHOT - Justin Baker (achieved a 112 away shot during a doubles game at home against The Retreat’s C. Barnett and T. Green) HIGHEST GAME SHOT - James Crews (achieved a 111 game shot during a doubles game at home against the Black Dog A side’s C. Gatfield and A. Parmley. MOST 60-99 SCORES - Justin Baker (achieved 196 scores of between 60 and 99 during the season) BEST KO PERFORMANCE - Hayley Boswell (runner-up in Ladies’ Singles KO competition - she also received the LADIES’ SINGLES KO RUNNER-UP TROPHY from the league for this achievement in all its glass phallic-shaped glory) MOST MAN OF THE MATCH AWARDS *NEW AWARD* - Justin Baker (named BFH Man of the Match on six occasions this season, and also received the title of BFH KO Man of the Tournament twice this season) MOST IMPROVED PLAYER - Todd Panter (won 11 more games and 15 more legs with a 33% rise in game win ratio and a 20% rise in leg win ratio compared to last season) BFH INTER-TEAM KO TOURNAMENT WINNER - Todd Panter (defeated Terry Boswell 2-1 in the final during the latest inter-team tournament held at The Bell Inn at Bosbury towards the end of March) SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD - Chris Ponter and Justin Baker (both attended every match this season) MOST EFFICIENT PAYER - Matthew Cale (first to pay the weekly £1.00 player fee in 12 out of 24 matches this season) MOST SINGLE DIGIT SCORES - Steve Crews (hit 20 scores of below ten during the season) BAGS OF NAILS AWARD - Steve Crews (hit 2 scores of three during the season) LEN GOODMAN AWARD - Chris Ponter and Steve Crews (both hit 4 scores of seven during the season) EGG AND CHIPS AWARD - Justin Baker (hit 38 scores of twenty-six during the season) BASIL BRUSH AWARD - Hayley Boswell and Todd Panter (both received one Brush each during the season) BFH PLAYER OF THE SEASON - Todd Panter (huge improvement in terms of the number of games and legs won this season, and for also hitting the team’s fourth ever official 180) C. Ponter then thanked the team for all of their efforts over the past season, and also for their commitment to the team over the last six and a half years as he then went on to announce that this tenth season would be BFH’s last (for now) in terms of continuous involvement in the Ledbury Town and District Darts League. Although it was the end of an era for the team in terms of unbroken participation in the league, the Captain added that there would always be scope for friendlies to be played in the near future against arch league rivals AC/DC (or LTFC, as they have now reverted), possibly at the new venue of T. Panter’s Wheatsheaf Inn establishment out at Fromes Hill. If people’s working and personal commitments allowed it, C. Ponter also said that a return to the league in the future should not be ruled out. Thank you and good night as they say - it’s been a terrific ride over the last ten seasons and the Press Officer hopes that you’ve all enjoyed it. Bring on the paintballing! ;-) There are actually more photos than the five shown below - simply click on any of the thumbnails, then use the side arrow to scroll through and find the remaining nineteen pictures.
