*** TEAM NUTEBROCK ALZHEIMERS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEMORY - TopicsExpress

*** TEAM NUTEBROCK ALZHEIMERS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEMORY WALK*** In support of my very dear friend, Andy Nutini, I will be participating in the above event. I have personally pledged $50.00 to the cause and Im looking for help from my Facebook family to add to my pledge. Any amount is greatly appreciated to help find a cure for this devastating condition. If all of my friends pledge just $1.00, we can raise over $1400.00. Please give it some consideration. Andy and his family will surely appreciate it!! You can reach out to me here or private message me. Please read the story below, written by Andys daughter, Kristen Nutini. Thank you! Tony Louis Sr. ******************************************************************************************* Heeyy Everyone! Its that time of year again. The Alzheimers Association Annual Memory Walk is scheduled for October 4th. This will be our 5th year participating and I will be honest, its been the fastest yet longest 5 years of our lives. And to be brutally honest, I/my family wish we didnt have to put this event on our calendars every year. I cant say that this is something that we enjoy, but it is something that lifts us up every year when all of our friends and family show up to support this cause and support my dad. It is an event that brings me to tears year after year when I witness with my own eyes all of the people who love and support my mom and dad and my brother and sisters. Truly, tears, like a little girl :) An update, a reality, is that since Mid November, my dads condition has quickly and heart-breakingly declined into the latest stage of the disease. Many of you personally know and have seen my dad in the last 9 months so you know the severity. He is 24 hour dependent , we are fighting a losing battle against time and all we can do at this point is try to make as many memories as possible. This event, hopefully, can be just another positive memory. Im calling for extra help this year. Ive been attending some events hosted by the Alzheimers Association over the past couple of months and the statistics, the scientific facts of this disease, are terrifying. Statistics like: *Every 66 seconds, someone is diagnosed with Alzheimers or dimentia *50 million Americans personally know someone suffering from Alzheimers *2/3 of Americans living with Alzheimers are women *Alzheimers is the 6th leading cause of death in America, more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined *Alzheimers is one of the few diseases that can not be prevented and no medications have been developed to cure or even SLOW the progression. NOTHING WORKS! THIS is why I NEED YOUR HELP!!!! If you dont want to give up your Saturday morning to get some exercise at the actual walk, I at least need your money :) I have no shame in my game, Im not too proud to beg, ill ask nicely...PLEASE DONATE!!! By the end of 2014, the National Alzheimers research center needs to raise $2 billion for research, and theyre not close, not by a long shot. So cough up some cash, please! I have over 600 Facebook Friends If each of you donates just $5, thats $3,000 closer to a cure, if each of you gets one person to match your $5, and then that person finds a match etc.....think about what we can accomplish. Every penny gets us closer to a rhyme or reason for this disease and that much closer to a cure, or at the very least, maybe something to help improve the quality of life for those who suffer from Alzheimers and their caregivers. Which is just as difficult, if not more difficult on some days, than the disease itself. It goes without saying that my entire family, especially dad, loves and appreciates every single one of you. Every hug, every smile, every prayer, every kind word, every shoulder to cry on and ear to vent to, every glass of wine offered or distraction suggested....these things get us through. When youre ready to register for the walk or donate a few bucks, vistit alz.org. Search the Cincinnati walk on October 4th and type in Team NuteBrock. Youll find the registration forms and donation forms! Thank you all again, so so much! Dont forget to hug the ones you love today and tomorrow and every day after! Love you all! Andy, Nancy, Nick, Kristen, Michele, Lauren, Big Nick, Little Nick, Mya, Ky and SB
