TEAM ONYINO BLUE PRINT Bring the Cups Back Home We have to thank members and fans who have not lost trust in in the current office for running our beloved Ingwe. Many things have come and gone. We’ve had many good times and sad times too. What is more important is that we remained united as one big AFC family. As we head to June where we will have our elections, we pray that we remain united as ever for us to forge forward. ‘Obulalanamaani’ as we cherish ‘Ours Forever’. During the past one year, we have made tremendous progress in various areas at the club. • We have managed the contract of our sponsor with trust, honesty and professionally • We have paid players’ salaries and allowances without fail. • We successfully midwifed the new constitution of which we promise to continuously improve to meet the changing business trends. • We successfully secured a contract with a second sponsor who has promised to give the club 8 million per year. • Our legal function has ensured that all court cases are handled professionally without affecting the operations of the club. • Managed to secure a bus through rallying of fans and well wishers. • We managed to recruit a new professional coach to guide the technical bench. • Introduced E-ticketing to help control gate collection. To bring back the cup and keep them as long as possible, team Onyino promises to deliver a club that will regain the lost glory and reclaim its position at the local and continental map. This will be achieved on three main pillars 1. To build a club with a strong community support 2. To build a stable financial and administrative independence that will eradicate the dependency syndrome 3. To build a team that will bring back the past glory and be recognized on the regional map. COMMUNITY PILLAR For a long time, members and fans have had nothing much to show for having been members of the biggest club in Kenya. This has to change. In future every shilling a member pays into AFC must reflect in his membership account and should be able to use it gainfully. We promise to retain the club as a community based club with full participation of all Kenyans through payment of membership fee. Will ensure that: • The clubs branches are increased to ensure that we have a representation across the country. The Executive will ensure that a budget is set aside to support the running of the branches. Strong branches will ensure sustained growth of the club fan bases. • We shall continue to support the community through CSR programs and specifically the development of education and sanitation programs. • The club shall adopt the strategy to recruit and develop talent from the community. We will aim at developing soccer at the grass roots. • Deliberate efforts to create jobs for our members will continue as has already been seen in an endeavor to have AFC for and run by its members. Every future employment at the club will be given to branches as a first priority. • Deliver an elaborate celebration to mark the 50 years of the club. • Endeavor to bring families into the stadium. We shall introduce family fan activities to the stadium. A home area will be set separate to accommodate families with the aim of encouraging families into the stadium. • WE shall establish a SACCO to uplift members financial independence. THE TEAM PILLAR The league championship, the cup victories, CECAFA wins, all those trophies have to come back home. We have to collect the ones we can trace and skillfully recreate those that have been lost to start a museum of AFC Leopards memorabilia to be house in a club house for Ingwe. Our team has gradually been improving in performance since rejoining the premier league, We promise to invest in a robust plan to ensure that : • In the next 3 years we shall secure our own ultra-modern training facility in partnership with local partners as the ‘lab’ where Kenyan football champions will be groomed and skilled. • We shall put in place a strategic plan that will guide the club towards getting our own Stadia Business Complex – The Den. • The player’s contracts will be enhanced to a minimum of two years to ensure that the club gets value from each single player we acquire. While we aim to giving the coach and his assistant a minimum contract of four years. • We will deliberately form of an AFC academy and partnership with primary and secondary schools across the country. • The club develops players from ages below 17 years who we would like to retain in the club for a period as long as ten years. • We have a plan to develop a comprehensive human resources policy that will ensure that we get good talent both at the administrative level as well as the technical team and retain them as long as possible. FINANCIAL PILLAR As a team we will Endeavour to build a stable financial and administrative system that will shepherd the development of a five year strategic plan within the first 100 days. The team aims at: • Enhancing the two partnerships (Mumias and ZUKU) we have and ensure that we get two more partners that will help to sustain the financial needs of the club. • Maximization on gate collections by raising stadium attendance by 50%. THE GATE FEES SHALL NOT BE THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF THE CLUB REVENUE and hence the strategy will be to retain a conservative gate fee charges. • Achieving of One Hundred and Fifty million in three years. • Setting up an administrative structure that will ensure clear separation of powers among the various arms of the club including, the NEC, Secretariat, the Branches and fan basses. • Expand on the current office and move it out of city center to a convenient place that members can easily access. • Setting up a finance team that will ensure that financial reports are distributed to members on a quarterly basis. • Structured and transparent selling of merchandise. 40% of annual merchandize will be distributed through branch network of which the profit will be shared between the club and the branches. 60% will be sold through prequalified corporate outlets. All these will only be achieved with brave but sober visionary leadership that will oversee agile operational teams in a secretariat run by transparent systems backed by technology and backed by partnerships within the sports industry and beyond. In the last one year we have demonstrated that it can be done.
