TEEN ARRESTED FOR RECENT CAR CLOUTINGS IN LINCOLN COUNTY Since reported on July 29th, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office have investigated over 20 car cloutings stemming back to June. In the past week, thieves have targeted valuables from within vehicles, to include the stealing of five handguns from different victims. Deputies and investigators are aggressively tracking down leads and following up on community tips on potential suspects in the vehicle cloutings. This morning, investigators arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile in connection with three vehicle cloutings to include tampering and first degree burglary. The teen admitted to stealing from vehicles and trading a handgun for marijuana. Lincoln County investigators are continuing to follow up on leads on other potential suspects to the recent car cloutings. “The Sheriff’s Office appreciates all the community tips that have flowed in since Tuesday on the car cloutings,” said Sheriff John Cottle. “Car cloutings are often times one of the hardest crimes to solve and thanks to the community we are making headway on these crimes.” The suspect is in the custody of Lincoln County Juvenile Authorities.
