TELEPHONE SCAM A local resident would like to raise awareness of a telephone scam: Between 4 and 5pm today my dad received a phone call from a lady with a foreign accent asking questions about his personal details. She already knew his name and address which he confirmed and carried on to say she wanted to send him a cheque. She then asked his date of birth, to which he told her he didnt have any debts and doesnt need financial help. She then hung up. I dont know if this has happened to anyone else but luckily my dad is aware of scammers, others may not be. just thought Id let you guys know just in case!
