TEXAS MUSIC IS LOVED GARY NICHOLSON For OCTOBER 2014 Gary Nicholson from Garland TX is a hit songwriter, two-time Grammy winning producer, world-traveling performer, recording artist and session guitarist. Growing up in Texas, he played guitar in various bands starting at age fourteen. After pursuing a degree in music at North Texas State University, in 2006 he was nominated to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. There are over five hundred recordings of his songs in various genres - including country, rock, blues, folk, bluegrass and pop - by such diverse artists as BB King, Garth Brooks, Bonnie Raitt, Ringo Starr, Willie Nelson, John Prine, Etta James, George Strait, George Jones, Fleetwood Mac, The Dixie Chicks, Emmylou Harris, The Neville Brothers, Trisha Yearwood, Reba McEntire and the list goes on. In addition to his Grammy-winning records with Delbert McClinton, who has recorded over forty of his songs, he has produced records for The Judds, Wynonna, Pam Tillis, T Graham Brown, Chris Knight, Taylor Hicks, Seth Walker and more. Garys song Fallin and Flyin co-written with Stephen Bruton is featured in the award winning movie Crazy Heart performed by Jeff Bridges.
