TGRC’S GREEN COMMITMENT ON MANDELA DAY - Let’s keep South Africa clean and green The message behind Mandela Day is simple – each individual has the ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better. In June, our President emphasised the need for South Africans to clean up the country. We should each dedicate at least 67 minutes on Mandela Day towards tidying our beautiful environment. The Glass Recycling Company heeded that call and spent the morning of Mandela Day cleaning up littered traffic islands and intersections for 67 minutes. We understand the importance of ensuring South Africans cleaning and disposing their waste in the best possible manner, which the company explains, is by recycling. Recycling your waste ensures that your rubbish never litters our beautiful country nor ends up in landfill, rather that it is repeatedly used to manufacture new goods!
