THANK-YOU to EVERYONE for all the wonderful emails, text, and voice messages!!!! Annie put her heart, soul, and mind out there on the line in every event this weekend...and FINALLY believed (what so many others knew) that she could actually win the NAM title; got caught up in the moment believing after 8 years of such dedication to a goal that she had finally achieved it AND forgot TO BREATH. She hyperventilated resulting in some physical reactions that prevented her from staying after the pageant to see everyone that came to support her and congratulate her NAM friends. As most of you know...she worked all year for NAM (She has competed in NAM 8 years) and she had another AMAZING pageant. Really strange that the director thought this was Annies first NAM pageant. She WON Volunteer Service, Casual Wear Modeling, Photogenic, Spokesmodel, Actress, Best Resume, Most Promising Model, 4th Runner-up Top Model, 4th Runner-up Talent....and in preparing for all this she maintained a 4.1 GPA this year!! BUT she didnt make Top 5. NAM is an amazing system because of the young women you have the privilege to meet and see grow up. I couldnt possibly name all the wonderful friends Annie has made because I would leave someone out and the new friends this year... incredible!!!! To all the mothers...thank for all the wonderful conversations, support and at times our tears sharing our life experiences and dreams for our daughters. In truth...there are so many young women that could represent the State of Virginia well. ...I know my daughter would have represented NAM and her state of Virginia with grace, humility, integrity and kindness and was looking for that opportunity!!! But rest assured that Annie is strong in her conviction and dedication to continue to perform, model, and help those Chance Foundation Dogs (we will be coming to see you Nugget!!!) The only thing a person can do is prepare, train and have the courage to put yourself out there....everything else is in the hands of others to decide. Annie, my wish for you is to continue to be fearless, continue to break your Personal Records (PRs) as you have every year, share that beautiful heart and spirit (May God protect it - from those that may hurt it), continue to be that wonderful competitor that doesnt win at any cost and let your beauty from within that is reflected on the outside shine...shine...shine BUT most importantly BREATH!
