THE 42nd FIRE EXPO is being held this weekend at the Pennsylvania Farm Show building in Harrisburg. Several hundred vendors and scores of new fire trucks and many new ambulances are on display. A few vendors/displays have local ties, including Dewart-based Susquehanna Fire Equipment Co. salesman Charles Whitford Jr., photo 7, who in the fire chief for the Eldred Twp. Vol. Fire Co (Lycoming County). The next photo shows a new ambulance Susquehanna Health recently bought. Everything from T-shirts and hats to miniature fire truck models and specialized tools are on sale. The Expo, sponsored by the Lancaster County Firemens Assn, runs through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm (the gates will close at 3)/ph
