THE ABUSE OF BEAGLES IN LABORATORIES AROUND THE WORLD Part Three. Based in New York, MARSHALL BIORESOURCES has facilities around the world. They provide purpose bred research animals. They breed beagles, mongrel/hound dogs, ferrets, and Gottingen Minipigs. Marshall Beagles are also raised in China. An undercover investigation conducted by BUAV last year found MSD ANIMAL HEALTH ( Merck Animal Health in the USA and Canada) using beagle puppies for cruel animal testing. Investigations uncovered the shocking killing of puppies, kittens and other baby animals born to die in the UK laboratory. The company had no system for finding homes for the puppies once they had completed their exeriments on them - most were simply discarded. This is apparently standard policy in many laboratories. Many still claim that the testing of products and procedures on animals forms an important step in the development of methods of safeguarding human health. Those who oppose animal testing claim that there are other methods for ascertaining the validity and effects of a given product or procedure. They argue that testing on animals does not necessarily give an accurate picture of the outcome that would result when humans are involved.
