THE ACTUAL COST OF A POUND OF MEAT IS OVER $200 - A single pound requires 2400 gallons of water - nearly half of all water used in the U.S. goes to raise animals for food. U.S. animals raised for food excrete 89,000 pounds of poop per second and all of it seeps into the groundwater. A third of the landmass of the earth is used to raise animals for meat and seven football fields of land are bulldozed every minute, destroying our forests ability to produce oxygen with every burger. Seventy percent of grain and cereals grown in the U.S. are fed to farm animals... thats 16 pounds of food consumed for every pound of beef produced. You couldnt make a less efficient or more destructive food source than meat, the proven cause of cancer and heart disease. Its a no-brainer. Eating meat will be the death of us all.
