>|. THE ADVENTURE.|< Day 77 of 365 Topic: The Evidence Of Fire Ref. Scripture: Exodus 19:18 There are folks who believe that the christian walk is merely a thing of the heart. How true is that? Is this statement consistent with what the Scripture teaches? Jesus made it clear that the Believer is appointed to bear fruits (John 15:16), and the foremost proof that the Holy Spirit is at work in a Believer is in the manifestation of His fruits. Now, the question is, do you find fruits IN a tree or ON a tree? Can a tree hide its fruits on its inside? Fruits are found on a tree not inside it. The proof that a tree is healthy is in the fruits it bears; if those fruits arent there, then it is barren and dead. When God descended on Mount Sinai, the Scripture says...Now Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the Lord descended on it in fire... He was yet to say a word, yet the people were aware of His Presence. The Mount on which He descended was completely in smoke. Smoke is the evidence of fire. When you see smoke in any place, you need not be told that fire is burning there; if there is fire, there must be smoke!! John likened the Presence of the Holy Spirit to the presence of fire (Matthew 3:12), so He indwells the Believer as Fire. Now, many of us claim to carry this Fire-Presence, but there is no smoke-evidence. How possible is that? If you claim to carry this Fire and there is no smoke, then the intensity of that Fire is very very low. The principal assignment of the Holy Spirit is to produce the character of Jesus in the Believer. The Holy Spirit came to glorify Jesus, and the glory of Jesus is in the revelation of the person of Jesus. I ask you today, is this character of Jesus forming in you? Is the world seeing the manifestation of Jesus in you? Is there the evidence that the Spirit of Jesus indwells you? Thought For The Day: Whoever is rooted in Christ will bear His fruits.
