THE ATHEIST ACCORDING TO GOD The fool says in his heart While the atheist says from his mouth Thats the difference. Psalm 14 begins thus, The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. Then it goes on to outline the qualities or features of this foolery: 1) They are corrupt 2) Their deeds are vile 3) None does good 4) They devour the powerless 5) They frustrate the plans of the poor. Psalm 36 attempts a further description of the same person describing him as 1) God-fearless. 2) Self-flattering 3) Own-sin-blind 4) Ceasure of wisdom and good deeds 5) Plots evil on his bed 6) Committed/dedicated to evil courses Thats true atheism. Many whom we describe as atheists do not and cannot fit these labels. But they can fit Gods label for those who will enter into life as shown in Matthew 25:34-40. Notice their surprise in verses 37-39. Thats an indication that they may have been self-proclaimed atheists. The average self-affirming theist does good because of God. Such a surprise would be out of tune with his God-dominated vocabulary and world view. This is Gods standard. Not mine. Dont overlook it. Dont bend it. Fight REAL ATHEISTS. Stop waging war against the best minds and hearts (breeds) of humanity who are courageous enough to stand out from the deceit many of us call our religiousness. It is the scandal of religion that produces nominal atheism. We confuse them with contradictory images/paintings of God which both individually and collectively cannot stand for God the creator and father of all. For their own safety, they cut of the inflow of the BAD BLOOD of the religious lives and communities we religious people are. The popular statement attributed to the great indian and mondial stateman Mahatma Ghandhi offers a demo for the position of those we wrongly call atheists in defiance of scripture while welcoming real atheists into the genre of theism. I love the image and story of the Christ, but cannot become a christian because they are never like him Though Ghandhi was a religious person, though not in mainline abrahamo-theism, his decision against christianity reflects those of self-proclaimed atheists against organized/traditional religions. I totally sympathize with their position. They are a welcome challenge to those of us whose lips love the name of God but our hearts are opposed to his ways.
