THE AWESOME MIX VOLUME 2 CHALLENGE Your challenge is to make a spotify (or other music website) song list that would make an awesome Awesome Mix Vol. 2! For those of you who dont know, Awesome Mix Vol. 1 was the soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy. GG was so popular, there is sure to be a GG2, and therefore, a GG2 soundtrack, otherwise abbreviated as AMV2. It will surely be awesome, but the question is - can one of us successfully guess what it will be? Read on for a few guidelines you might want to consider... 1) AMV1 had songs from 1969-1979 but half were from 74-76. Keep in that range, if you want them to be plausible songs for GG2. 2) Think in terms of the plot arcs in great movies, so have a variety of moods and tempos in your choices... Imagine the love scenes, action scenes, character introductions, etc... and choose songs that would work. 3) A nod to the styles from AMV1 would be wise, as the character that made the first mix probably wouldnt have a radical change in musical taste between making the first tape and the second tape. 4) Probably best not to choose songs that are already seared into moviegoers minds as belonging to another major hollywood film. If itd never stand a chance of making it into the real GG2 soundtrack (AMV2) best to leave it out. 5) Extra points for at least one oblique (or even direct) reference to space, stars, etc...
