THE BIG ADVENTURE BEGINS FOR MAX, JAKE, LAURA & LUNA Yesterday morning 4 very lucky older TCSPCA rescue Potcakes left for Miami on American Airlines enroute to Dulles airport where wonderful volunteers from a rescue organization called Operation Paws for Homes will be picking them up early next week and each dog will then be placed in a foster home until they are adopted into loving homes through OPH adoption program. The TCSPCA sends a big thank you to Brigette and her son Lyle for travelling with 4 crated dogs and making their way through a very busy Miami airport to drop off the precious cargo. There were multiple steps needed to make this awesome plan a reality which included airport pick up and boarding for a few days with Jack Russo a private pet service based in Miami, the cost of 4 new kennels, airline fees and cargo costs. None of this would have happened without the fantastic generosity and support of John Thomas, founder of Project Potcake, which began with a dream and a vision to help rescue and find loving forever homes for homeless Potcake Dogs from the Turks & Caicos Islands. Project Potcake also supports intelligent spay & neutering efforts, in order to decrease the number of stray, unwanted dogs in the islands. Thank you John & Jessica – you are both our shining STARS! Also, we send a very special thank you to Donna Doran, owner of Pampered Paws, who provided professional care and rehabilitation for Max, Jake, Laura & Luna until the wonderful volunteers from Operation Paws for Homes were ready to accept our special dogs! We look forward to receiving updates on the dogs once they are safe and sound in the care of OPH.
