THE BIG QUESTION is coming below. Here are some quotes from Gerald Ford, who rated other presidents in an interview with the Grand Rapids paper that was released after his death. Ford said JFK was a great spokesman for attractive political objectives such as a balanced budget and defeating communism, but when it came to implementation, his record never matched his words. Kennedy was probably the least well-informed on the details of running the government of any president I knew, Ford said. In a separate interview, he said JFK was just a poor manager, and you cant be president and do a good job unless you manage. Ok, I changed what President Ford said. I mean I REALLY changed it. He was actually speaking of Ronald Reagan, as youll see when you read the actual LA Times article below. All Im hearing from Conservative Media is how OVERRATED JFK was.... its driving them CRAZY to see all of the tributes and the saturation coverage of Kennedy on the 50th anniversary of his assassination. They insist theres been a concerted effort to boost JFKs standing from the moment he died to today and beyond. No doubt the Camelot thing has been overdone forever and Kennedy was no saint. But look at the whitewash and deification of Ronald Reagan. We all (supposedly) were happy and prosperous in the 1980s and again felt good about America because Ronald Reagan made us ALL feel that way. Ohhh--Kayyyye. Where was I during that decade? Where were you? The question is.... (keeping Jerry Fords comments about Reagan in mind)... who do you think is a more overrated president, JFK or Reagan? bk
