THE BLEEDING PATH THAT TAKES ONE TO THE LORD OUR PROVIDER! PART 5 Prepared by Pastor Charles Chanda; Pretoria, South Africa. GREAT CARE FOR INSTRUMENTS OF DIVINE WORSHIP! Genesis 22:6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. What a great journey indeed! Do you realize that the noise and the shouting we make do not bring miracles but the condition and the pondering of the heart does. I am surprised that since the journey started, no words from Isaac have been recorded till this moment. Quietness has great blessings. Something that has helped me in my Christian walk is the keeping of few friends and even when some deserted me; it was for my own profit so that I am focused on my walk with Christ. Abraham had not yet spoken directly to the son but kept on acting and now he gives the son to carry the wood and not the fire nor the knife. You and I may ask why because the wood was heavier than the fire and the knife. We will discover later as we continue. 1. THE WOOD OF THE BURNT OFFERING! “ And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son;…” Just seeing the wood would make one to start crying because it is symbol that the offering has to be killed and blood shed. Isaac up till this moment was going to be killed and burnt. Will a man jest who is going to offer his only son? Certainly not. Thank God for the determination of Abraham to offer unto God what he had requested from him. The carrying of the wood meant that the sacrifice will be fully given to God. Burnt and forgotten. Abraham understood the principle of giving in secret and no wonder he left the young men. Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Many of us offer ourselves to God without the wood. There is still a part that is alive and no wonder God has very few servants to do his work today. Full consecration is the wood that renders us full given to God. Are you dead to self? We want to please God and the world at the same time. It ought not so to be. I was working with a good and well paying job many years ago and God spoke to me to give up that and I did. It was so shocking and in fact still is that despite this consecration the very church I was called to serve in despite giving me an allowance three times less than I was getting turned its back on me, stopped paying me and even encouraged me to go and look for work. I was led into temptation that has kept me in a wilderness for several years. This I cannot endure and accept any more because the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. I swore to my own hurt and could not revoke my sacrifice just because the church is no longer willing to spend Gods resource in supporting me. When I first received the call into full-time service I rejected it gave an excuse that the church needed my tithe and hence my continuing in the secular world but God strongly corrected me and reminded me that there were people in the church at that time who were earning ten times my salary and that as for me it was not the tithe he wanted but my undivided attention in his service. Thank God I have restored my life on the alter of sacrifice and no man will stand on my way. I am carrying the wood with me. I will serve him till I die. O Jesus I have promised to serve thee to the end. Be thou forever near me my master and my friend. How about you my friend? Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. The question you must be asking yourself is “Am I fully given to God?” If the case be so why is it so difficult for you to give to God and for his work? Why is God not in your budget and yet you are always praying and singing? Hypocrites keep God in the mouth and not in the hands. Where is your own God kept? TO BE CONTINUED AS THE SPIRIT LEADS US!
