THE BLESSED TRINITY: THE CHRISTIAN CONCEPT Everything about the Lord God is beyond our human capabilities to grasp fully or exhaustively, because the Lord God majestically is outside the boundaries of human limitations. For example, we do not understand how God is without beginning and without end. We are incapable of understanding how is it that the Lord God is present everywhere. Yet these are truths that the Lord God has revealed to us about Himself, and we accept them by faith in His truthfulness and His inerrancy. Likewise, the revealed Trinitarian Existence of God is the most complex, the most profound, and therefore the most difficult doctrine to understand. Our understanding of it is limited by what the Lord God has revealed to us about the Blessed Trinity. HERE IS A SUMMARY OF THE DOCTRINE: The historical doctrine of the Trinity simply states that there is one God existing in three internal Self-Distinctions (not divisible parts) called Persons. These we recognize as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They are co-equal and co-eternal, with every Member being indwelt by the other two Members in perfect harmony (co-indwelling). The word Trinity comes from the Latin noun trinitas meaning three are one. Accordingly, the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. Therefore, it is accurate to speak of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, without implying a separation or a division in the Godhead. The Father is not the same Person as the Son or the Holy Spirit; the Son is not the same Person as the Father or the Holy Spirit; and the Holy Spirit is not the same Person as the Father or the Son. They are not three gods, they are not three manifestations of God, and they are not three beings. They are three distinct Persons; yet, they are the One God, the One indivisible eternal Being, the Highest Complexity in existence that has created all existing complexities. CONTINUED BELOW....
