THE CHILDREN’S ACADEMY THEATRE OF TENNESSEE, INC. NEEDS YOU! Actually, it’s the children of East Nashville who need you! The Children’s Academy Theatre of Tennessee, Inc. (The CATT) has been retained to provide theatre and music classes to the kindergarteners, first graders and second graders of East End Preparatory School, a public charter school founded and funded by The Martha O’Bryan Center, devoted to lifting the community of East Nashville out of poverty. And we get to help! The CATT is looking for four professional actors and four professional musicians (and you could be one and the same) to teach (and play) theatre arts and general music to these young, budding artists and aspiring college students! This is our opportunity to enrich and enhance their education by teaching them to use their imaginations, concentrate on their fellow actors, collaborate and trust each other, work together, play together, perform together! There is nothing like live performance, and the rush and thrill of live performance will be our end goal as we prepare these students for showcase at the end of each semester. The gig pays $25/hour, and takes place between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting in September and continuing through the school year for 30 weeks. If you are interested, please contact Annie Brock at anniebrock2052@gmail or on Facebook. We are so looking forward to working with you! You will have our complete support as we write curriculum together, study behavior management and help you know what to expect when working with at risk students. And if you know any great college students who are interested in teaching the arts, encourage them to contact us. We might find just the right place for them! Thank you!
