THE CICADA I spent too much time viewing this beautiful, transparent winged, red eyed and singing insect called the Cicada. Its sound can go a mile (1.5km) and it’s such a wonderful thing to behold and listened to. These beautiful features of the Cicada can only last between 17 to 30 days it dies when it has a life cycle between 13 to17 years. Why do we only enjoy Cicada for only 17 days while it actually existed for 17 years? What happened to the rest of the years? It’s because it spends most of its life (17 years) as a nymph under the soil. This will describe the life of most people on the last day; they will so delay in their decision to make a living out of life that they will have little or no impact on life. A bulb can stay long in its bulb hole, it’s not until its connected to electricity that it will shine; during the period it’s on that bulb hole without electricity, its only existing and occupying space but hence it contacts electricity, its starts living. You only exist and occupy space when you’ve not given your heart to Jesus, you’ll exist as a nymph without purpose in life just to eat, drink, marry and die, nothing more. Romans 12 1-2 tells us that its only the word of God that can bring that needed transformation that will make us not just exist but to live for God. As long as you have not given your heart to Christ, you are like that nymph that though has the potential to fly and sing would be imprisoned below the soil. Your purpose in life cannot be realized unless you’ve given your heart to Jesus Christ. The period spent outside Christ is a wasted time, rise up and give your heart to Jesus that you no longer be a nymph buried below the soil when you can actual fly above the earth as a transformed being.
