THE DAY OF THE LORD The bible is replete with a particular phrase referred to us “THE DAY OF THE LORD” From the Old Testament prophets to the early day believers. Amos speaking of this terrible day says. ”Woe to you who long for the day of the Lord” The prophet Isaiah speaking of the same says ‘wail, for the day of the lord is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty’. He also says ...the Lord Almighty has a day in store. Also, ‘the Lord alone will be exalted in that day. Malachi gives assurance of the coming of this day saying ‘surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace’. Mal 4;1 This day is now upon us for Jesus Himself said this generation will surely not pass. The prophecies of Joel 5 are being fulfilled in our hearing and seeing daily. This DAY is twofold; It brings the wrath of the Lamb and of the One who sits on the throne (REV 6; 16) (1The 5; 2) against all wickedness, and salvation and deliverance to the godly and righteous. (DAN 12; 1) What people are we ought to be in view of this? We ought to live holy and godly lives. (2nd Pet 3; 11) and also pray to be counted worthy to escape all that is soon to happen. (Luke 21; 36)We ought to be awake so that that day will not overtake us (Math 24; 42). Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision! For the door of the Lord is near. In the valley of decision (Joel 3; 14) CHOOSE YOUR DESTINY. Shalom.
