THE DAY OUR WORLD CHANGED It will be a day I will never forget, November of 2014 day 2. My world would take a major turn into something I never knew. I was sitting on the couch, unwinding from a hard day of working at the Wood. Was relaxing watching television in my sweat pants and my pullover with the hood. Then there was a knock at my front door. I was tired of dealing with people for the moment and didnt want to deal with them any more. I went and answered the knock and there stood a woman and a man. The lady said, We are from the department of family and children service. and both extended their hand. The first person that jumped in my mind was my girls mother. But it had nothing to do with her, this time it was another. As I invited them to come in and have a seat. The lady asked if I remembered a certain woman and about what year did we meet. I told her,I could remember she lived in Waterford and there is a degree she was earning. It was in law enforment, it was criminal justice she was learning. Other than that all I know is she was staying with her man. Why you asking me about her, help me understand. The man said, Well Mr. Brown it seems that she became a mother some years ago. She told us you may be the father and she is no longer able to care for them anymore, So. We are trying to find the father instead of placing them completely in our service. They are some wonderful little kids and they really dont deserve this. Now if they are yours, would you be willing to accept them in your home and heart? I said, Yes, but to just jump in their lives after seven years, where would I start. Wait a minute, you said they! How many is it and where do they stay? The lady said, They are in Atlanta and yes it twin boys. Now we are willing to help as much as we can with counseling, finding a bigger place even asssiting with food and giving them some toys. Now all we need from you is a sample of your DNA. Then we will send you a letter with the results in about a week, give or take a day. I gave them a sample and it was bagged. Signed the sticker that went on it and it was tagged. The lady said, Mr. Brown, you are doing the right thing. You cant imagine the joy to these boys lives you could bring. Now if they turn out to be yours you will have new birth certificate to sign and you can give them new names. Its will be up to you, change them or leave them the same. I told them,You two have given me alot to think of and by all means have a very blessed day. I walked them to their car and waved bye as they drove away. I walked back in my place with alot of different emotions. No time to play with this situation, the wheels had already be placed in motion. Had to tell my lady somehow, someway. I wont hide it from her, just asked the Lord to give me the right words to say. Will she accept them like she accepted my other two. Im thinking, Lord send me an angel to help me thru. My life is going to change if these two little boys have the Brown bloodline. But I will just work harder for them so they and I can brightly shine. As for my family, Ill tell them when I get the results back. For right now I just have to stay focused and keep my mind on the track. A few days passed and it was time to tell the lady I am in love with. Will she understand my past was not squeaky clean or will this relationship be something she decides to quit. Well I decided to just let go and let God. I would understand if she left because it can be kind of hard. I told her and wouldnt you know she stayed in my corner. When she decided to stay with me, even more than before in my life I knew I want her. A little more time passed and that letter came in the mail. I asked my lady to come over and read it because I was too nervous and she could tell. She opened the letter and I followed her eyes as she read. Im on pins and needles wondering what it said. She looked at me then looked back down at the letter. The butterflies are flying and her looking at me and not saying anything didnt make me feel any better. She opened her mouth and spoke very clear. She actually said the words that I wanted to hear. She said, Congradulation, We have twins. I swear being with you, the excitement seems to never end. Shortly after that all the paperwork came and I got it done and out the way. My boys were coming home to us and with us is where they were going to stay. Well I told my family members to come over, I got something important to tell. Already know some were going to smile about it, but had a feeling my 3 sisters were going to give me hell. They all arrived and I started from the top. I asked them not to ask any questions until I stop. The looks on their faces said it all. The suspense of seeing the boys was driving them up the wall. Just when my family and I couldnt take the suspense anymore. Jayden and Jaydon Brown were met with open arms as they walked in my door.
