THE DEATH OF ETSU AGAIE - THE END OF AN ERA The one decade selfishness, caring and compassion reign of of ETSU AGAIE- Alhaji Muhammadu Kudu Abubakar 111 which was dominated by concerted efforts on peace and unity building among his subjects for the development of Agaie Emirate finally came to an end with the Fiddau prayers at Agaie on Thursday 3rd April, 2014. The Fiddau was attended by thousands of sympathizers across the country. The Emir was installed as the 12th ETSU AGAIE on 30th April, 2004 after the death of his predecessor- Alhaji Muhammadu Attahiru. The monarch would be remembered by his simplicity, philanthropic gestures and a high passion for grassroots mobilization for socio-political empowerment of his people. It is in this context that I shall remember with much nostalgia the role played by the monarch in the emergence of Agaie Contact Group- a non partisan group that unavoidably became politically active as interventionist tool on the political arena of Agaie Emirate and the nation in general for good quality representation. He supported the group activities and in fact was its major inspiration till his death. The group would certainly miss him but would be consoled by the realization that his spirit and philosophies live on and shall be the major guiding torch for the group. In my capacity as the Chairman of the group, I shall cherish forever the good memories of my several contacts with the highly revered monarch. His death is indeed the end of an ERA in the rich history of our Emirate. While the people of Agaie Emirate earnestly awaits the appointment and announcement of the new ETSU AGAIE, I urge the family and the entire people of the Emirate, to take heart and be consoled by the reality that death is a fateful incident; a prevalence of destiny and therefore inevitable. I pray God to give the family the needed fortitude to bear the agony arising from the painful demise of the legacy building monarch. May God endow those saddled with the responsibility to elect the new Emir the needed wisdom and fear of God to do their duty first to their creator and to their people by appointing the people’s choice.
