THE DEFEAT OF ANTI-DEMOCRATIC FORCES IN OSUN: EKITI AS PLATFORM FOR FALSE CONFIDENCE. We watched as Ekiti came under the throes of stomach infrastructure, orchestrated by a man whose values are suspect and whose agenda for the people of Ekiti remain shrouded in mystery. But in Osun, the People stood their ground by rejecting the lure of stomach infrastructure and the fear of state sponsored thuggery. The people voted APC not because APC is a perfect party platform but because they saw in the man who flew that Partys flag, a willingness to serve. They also saw some semblance of people oriented leadership as opposed to deceitful leadership which only paid dividend during elections. IT IS TOO EARLY TO CONCLUDE THAT THIS IS A REJECTION OF THE PDP: IT ONLY MEANS THAT THE PDP NEEDS TO PRESENT CANDIDATES WITH GOOD ANTECEDENCE, IF IT HOPES TO WIN FUTURE ELECTIONS IN THE SOUTH WEST: I insist the victory of the APC in Osun is not about party politics, its about preserving the hard won values of the South West - values of people centred and accountable leadership. If the PDP truly want to earn our votes in the South West, let them do away with thugs and give us those whose personal lives give us a reason to dream. You cant earn our votes by bullying us. Call in the likes Jimi Agbaje, call in the likes of Akinwumi Adesina, call in the like of Bode Agusto and lets have a competition of ideas which leave people with healthy choices and not mediocre politicians whose claim to fame is the monopoly of violence and money which they wield. Congratulations RAUF AREGBESOLA, I pray this victory will spur you to be more sensitive to the yearnings of your people.
