THE DEMAND TO HAVE A DISCUSSION ON THE REPORT BY THE SKM MLAS WAS IN PRINCIPLE THE DEMAND OF THE PEOPLE OF SIKKIM. The press statement released by the SDF govt. on the issue of Patro Commission Report tabled in the State Legislative Assembly on 01.09.2014, also carrying the argument that Shri P.S. Goley has never raised the voice on behalf of the people of Sikkim in the Assembly is highly unwarranted and self defeating. As far as the questionable Partha Commission Report is concerned, the matter should have been discussed in the Assembly once it was tabled, even though tabling itself was in an enigmatic manner. The discussion on the report would have laid bare the fact of the SDF govt’s alleged indulgence in the act of corruption and abuse of power. Taking into account the credibility of the commission itself discussion on it would have been highly illuminating. Having felt the magnitude of its seriousness Shri P.S.Goley and the MLAs of SKM wanted to have discussion on it in the highest forum of the state i.e., State Legislative Assembly which the Speaker of the Assembly thoroughly denied. The SDF government failed to realize the fact that the demand to have a discussion on the Report by the SKM MLAs was in principle the demand of the people of Sikkim. It is a serious assertion of the SKM party that the ruling SDF can no longer mislead the people of Sikkim on such matters concerning them, in terms of their economy and other future prospects. Despite the fact that the SDF govt. has been able to put aside the matter of such importance through assembly procedure maneuver in the Assembly the SKM demands a public debate on the Commission report on behalf of the people of Sikkim whenever the SDF government desires. Further the allegation that Shri P.S. Goley never raised his voice in the Assembly on behalf of the people of Sikkim is ridiculous. One must not forget that it was only after the entry of Shri P.S. Goley as a rebel MLA of SDF party in the Assembly that the people of Sikkim came to know what conspires and what transpire inside the Assembly in the absence of opposition members.
