THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CONFESSION OF SIN AND CONFESSION OF THE - TopicsExpress

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CONFESSION OF SIN AND CONFESSION OF THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS. It must be noted that a sinners confession of sin to gain respite is an affirmation of the fact that he is a sinner. That in itself does not change anything for him. It only confirms that he is a sinner. It doesnt necessarily show that he is repentant. It is absolutely useless for a sinner to keep confessing his sins; it really does him no good other than momentary emotional release. For instance, a murderer in a jail is shouting, I murdered someone! I murdered someone! That doesnt necessarily mean that he is sorry. He is just trying to get emotional respite from the guilt that assault his soul. But the confession of the Lordship of Jesus is an acknowledgement that Jesus sacrifice on the cross, His death and sufferings in hell and His resurrection from the dead were done to free the sinner from the power of sin and recreate him and also grant him a new life in righteousness. It is the acknowledgement of the victory of Jesus over sin, guilt and condemnation on mans behalf For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly Romans 5:6 But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 To confess that Jesus is your Lord is to confess that sin with it guilt and condemnation were totally defeated and vanquished by Jesus on your behalf and that you accept that as a reality in your life. This is so important! To believe that Jesus was raised from the dead and confess Him as your Lord is to say that you accept Jesus death as your death; that you accept His sufferings in hell as your sufferings; that you accept His burial as your burial; and that you accept His resurrection as yours. In other words, that you accept all He went through in His redemptive work as yours. That is what brings about salvation. Going around confessing your sins to the clergy and all, is a religious exercise to gain momentary respite from sin. God knows every human is a sinner. He doesnt need you to confess your sins in order to get saved. He knows all your sins. That will not impress Him. You can never get done confessing all your sins in the next several months. You will definitely forget some. Moreover, God has already taken care of your sins more than 2000 years ago and He no longer reckons sin to the sinner. To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; 2 Corinth 5:19 Another translation reads; We are to tell how God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not charging mens transgression to their account Yet another; That is, that God was in Christ making peace between the world and Himself, not putting their sins to their account Confession of sins does not save the sinner. It is the confession and acknowledgement of Jesus as Saviour and Lord that saves the sinner. But as many that received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: John 1:12 The above Scripture says as many as receive and believe Him, not as many as confess their sins. To receive Him is to believe on His name and to confess Him as your Lord and Saviour. Jesus offers every sinner; both poor, rich, illiterate, educated and the literate of society etc. permanent respite from their guilt and condemnation that sin brings. Nothing else and no one else can suffice but Jesus alone, But all this is the work of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ 2 Corinthians 5:18 TCNT SALVATION PRAYER If you do not know Jesus as your Saviour and Lord, simply pray the following prayer in faith and Jesus will be your Lord! Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. Your Word says whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.... and if you shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved (Acts 2:21, Romans 10:9) I declare Jesus as my Lord and personal Saviour today. Thank you Father for saving me. I am born again. AMEN THE FINISHED WORK OF JESUS.. Stay connected and alive for the next word.. GOD BLESS YOU
